Malm Elected to NIBCO Board of Directors

ELKHART, IND. – (April 25, 2012) Steven Malm was elected to the NIBCO Board of Directors during the annual shareholder’s meeting held April 20, 2012, in Elkhart, Indiana. Malm is president and chief operating officer of NIBCO INC. and will assume additional responsibilities as a member of the board during his one-year term.

“Steven has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in his role as president and COO,” said NIBCO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rex Martin. “Even throughout up-and-down economic times, he is a visionary who leads by the NIBCO core values of safety, integrity, teamwork and continuous improvement.”

Malm’s career spans 30 years spent in the building construction industry specializing in international business, mergers and acquisitions, and general management. After joining NIBCO in 1996 as international vice president, Malm advanced to several key positions including senior vice president – supply chain; vice president, international and business development; and senior vice president, general manager TOLCO. Malm was appointed president and COO in 2006.

Malm received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He went on to earn a master’s degree in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Glendale, Arizona; and a second master’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

NIBCO, a privately held company founded in Elkhart in 1904, is a leading provider of plumbing valves and fittings and other flow-control products to residential and commercial construction, industrial and irrigation markets.
