    Experience: • Minimum of 8 years of product development (experience in the valve industry is a significant plus). • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. • History and familiarity with design engineering and process tools (DFMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, DOE, PPAP, etc.). • Casting, foundry, and machining. • Functional knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature), data acquisition, and a variety of pressure related testing methods and apparatuses.

     


    Job Description

    This position is primarily responsible for representing Corporate Engineering relative to the maintenance of existing products produced at the Nacogdoches, Reynosa, and Stuarts Draft manufacturing facilities.  Consults and assists functional areas as a subject matter expert in design, material, and the application of product.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Guide and expedite all stages of product development and modification associated with engineering changes - working with various functions to initiate, evaluate, and/or implement
    • Develop products in accordance with project management best practices.
    • Close and record all product/process projects in a timely and professional manner.
    • Improve/enhance basic technological skill sets that will position this function toward the future.
    • Provide mentoring guidance to other engineers in best practices and systems.
    • Develop and execute test plans that reflect all necessary product standards as well as represent field applications.
    • Schedule and conduct technical design reviews with cross functional groups including upper level management.
    • Schedule/evaluate/perform FEA and/or CFD virtual analysis on proposed design concepts.
    • Identify problems and propose solutions by collecting empirical data and gathering knowledge from others.
    • Maintain technical integrity of the product by sound applications of engineering/mechanical principles.
    • Application of lean principles and a working knowledge of Six-Sigma.
    • Assist in the development and documentation of standardized work instructions for the manufacturing processes.
    • Provide feedback on product design for manufacturability.
    • Coordinate testing of products from prototype through manufacturing release.
    • Analyze test data and coordinate product/tooling/process adjustments necessary to ensure product robustness.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications. Communicate with all business disciplines and levels regarding project status and issues.  Have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to work independently or in project team environment and within a defined deadline.
