    Job Description
    Primary function is the management and leadership of the operations accounting staff.  In addition, the position is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance of all standard costs, inventory transactions, LIFO inventory calculations and the accurate reporting and understanding of manufacturing variances to standard costs.  The position will participate in and lead other analysts in the monthly close process, capital and new product analysis and audits, and will perform various product line and business profitability analyses as requested.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise and lead operations accounting staff.
    • Review work of others to assure accuracy, completeness and content.
    • Take a leadership role in working with others throughout the organization in providing analysis, training or problem resolution support and analysis.
    • Assure standard costing processes and maintenance of master data are completed timely and accurately.
    • Oversee preparation of capital and new product development requests and analysis as well as post audits.
    • Provide analysis of manufacturing costs, variances and recommendations for improvement.
    • Lead preparation of annual budgets for manufacturing and distribution operations.
    • Provide financial assistance to manufacturing plants and operations managers in understanding costs and troubleshooting accounting and inventory related transactions.
    • Lead operations accounting staff in the monthly closing process assuring accurate reporting, and maintenance of master data and allocation utilities.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 7+ years of operations accounting experience; demonstrated competency in the relevant SAP modules used by the team. 2-5 years of corporate environment experience.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Accounting degree required; 4 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; SAP experience preferred; CPA preferred.

    SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have good attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, excellent communication and financial analysis skills with strong spreadsheet and computer skills.  Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.  Some travel (up to 25%) should be expected
