    Job Description
    The position is responsible for working with facilities, purchasing and all NPD cross-functional teams to execute supplier quality activities.  This individual is also responsible for assuring compliance through effective use of development of and implementation of quality tools for new product development (NPD) and the supply chain.  This position is responsible to promote and foster continuous improvement.  Travel expected at 30%.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the supplier quality planning portion of Advanced Quality Planning for sourced products
    • Thorough understanding of metrology and gauge R&R tools and ability to interpret results is required.
    • Execution of the supplier Control Plan during the prototype and production builds.
    • Coordinate capability studies on current processes and document the results; compare to NPD projects expectations
    • Resolve non-conforming process or product issues through root cause corrective action methodology (Six Sigma/8D).
    • Responsible to coordinate the preparation and on-time delivery of an internal PPAP and supplier quality deliverables.
    • Provide overall quality support for any new product project builds.
    • Ensure the appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout product and process development and are deployed into the control panel and utilized to drive improvements.
    • Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to pro-actively improve quality of components.
    • Analyze supplier capabilities. Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics.
    • Perform supplier Quality Systems audits and provide support for supplier Quality Systems improvements.
    • A key responsibility of this position is to ensure that the incumbent's area of responsibility is in compliance with the ISO and standards.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Must be a self-directed, independent worker capable of continually driving improvements and tasks with limited oversight.  Demonstrate competency in GD&T, print reading, metrology, and use of statistical techniques when evaluating and analyzing data.  Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Software and Minitab Statistical Software knowledge required.  Knowledge and understanding of CMM programming and output:  PCDMIS preferred
